Medusa is the majority shareholder of IsotoPower, Inc., a high-tech R&D company which is developing a long-life prototype battery, using nuclear isotope materials for energy and an Optoelectric conversion methodology.

These materials are to be processed in such a way as to shield harmful radiation with a photoluminescent (“glow in the dark”) mixture, which converts alpha emissions into photonic energy. This photonic energy is then converted to electron potential via a thin membranic layer of silicon.

In essence, the final material consists of billions of extremely small photovoltaic spheres.  These spheres will be ‘packed’ into battery casing form factors or can be sprayed into nearly any shape that can ‘sandwich’ the material with a P&N layer.  The initial proposed alpha emitter decays to inert, stable lead and requires no special disposal procedures.
